How to teach your dog "Fetch"

Cue word: "Fetch" · Hand signal: 🎾 Throwing motion · Learn first: Come

  1. Click when the dog grabs the toy
  2. Click when it brings it back
  3. Click when it drops it on "Drop"
  4. Chain all three together

Common mistake

Grabbing the toy makes the dog run off — trade it for a treat.

Caution

Keep sessions under 5 minutes. Stop if your dog is tired or uninterested and try again later. Even shorter for puppies and seniors.
