How to teach your dog "Speak"

One bark on cue — and only on cue.

Cue word: "Speak" · Hand signal: 🎤 Hand motion at the mouth · Learn first: none

  1. Click the moment it barks
  2. Attach the cue "Speak"
  3. Ignore barking without the cue
  4. Refine until it barks only on cue

Common mistake

Do not reward excited barking.

Caution

Keep sessions under 5 minutes. Stop if your dog is tired or uninterested and try again later. Even shorter for puppies and seniors.
